Today was a beautifully sunny winter’s day in Madrid with a temperature of 12 degrees, so we decided to go to Casa de Campo for a walk around the lake and to take some photos in the park. I got a new camera lens for Christmas (from myself!) and was keen to try it out. It’s a Canon EF 50mm f1.4 lens, which has a 80mm magnification factor on my digital camera, making it ideal for portrait photos. I wanted to try a portrait style of shooting into the sun, and got some nice results.
We then went for a walk and Sisa took the photo shown below. However, I didn’t reset the exposure setting on the camera after taking the photos above, and so got an over-exposed image. Rather than throw it away, I adjusted the shadows and highlights in Picasa and salvaged something presentable, albeit with an “artistic” touch!
We took Tiki with us and she enjoyed romping around in the park hugely.
But just before going for lunch at a restaurant in the park, Tiki decided to roll in the grass just one more time; however, she rolled in more than just the grass – she rolled in dog poo! So we tied her up a safe distance from the table (outside of course) and had our lunch. She looked on at us forlornly, knowing that she had become unpopular (and probably knowing why). We did not particularly want to share our car with the smelly thing to go home, so we scavenged a cardboard box from the restaurant, put Tiki in it, put the box in the boot of our car and drove home. Once there, we transported the box and dog to the bathroom and tipped her into the bath!
